MODERN BASALT - SHINE OF PLATINUM AND RAWNESS OF BLACK ROCK

MODERN BASALT - SHINE OF PLATINUM AND RAWNESS OF BLACK ROCK

December 10, 2020

The latest collection of Tubądzin Ceramics in the 30 x 75 cm format plays with contrasts, textures and structure of patterns. And above all, it is a reference to one of the oldest rock resources.

The Modern Basalt collection is definitely more oriented towards winter moods than other novelties in the 30 x 75 cm format. While other collections by Ceramika Tubądzin evoke autumn aura, have a soothing effect, combine post-industrial atmosphere with the colour of the year 2020 by Pantone Institute - Classic Blue, Modern Basalt focuses on invigorating contrasts. The latest proposal by Ceramika Tubądzin also refers to nature, however this time the designers decided to show the beauty of a material which is not often an inspiration for interior designers - basalt.

Basalt does not seem to be an elegant rock, desired by collectors of beautiful interiors and objects. It is an igneous rock with a very fine-grained structure and extraordinary strength, heat resistance and high indestructibility factor. Thanks to these properties, it is used in the aerospace industry and even in astronautics - basalt fibre is used as a structural and insulating element in the construction of space shuttles. However, basalt also accompanies us every day and has done so for centuries. Due to its resistance to abrasion, it is used in the construction of roads and paving cobblestones. Its hallmark is the distinctive black colour.

Showing the unobvious beauty of this stone was all the more challenging for the Tubądzin Group designers.

In the Modern Basalt collection the black rock and its raw character has been softened by the presence of a bright wall tile with a glossy finish (Modern Basalt Ivory, 748 x 248 mm), as well as a wall tile in a grey shade with a matt finish(Modern Basalt Black, 748 x 248 mm).

The collection is accompanied by a dark Steel Black 3 wall strip (748 x 23 cm) and porcelain floor tiles. Grand Cave Graphite STR in grey (598 x 598 mm) is the tile of choice for those who want to stay in black, white and grey and create a noir-style interior. The decorative tiles in the collection allow you to create an original atmosphere in the bathroom tailored to your individual needs in terms of the intensity of contrasts. The white wall decors Modern Basalt A and Modern Basalt B (748 x 248 mm) play with shades and textures of white. Squares, triangles and geometric shapes hidden in a three-dimensional tile are a play on form, reminiscent of cubist patterns in this expressive collection.

For enthusiasts of unobvious combinations, the designers from Tubądzin Group offer Wood Grain Red STR (1198 x 190 mm), a porcelain tile resembling a light plank, which combined with the platinum gloss of bright decorative tiles, allows a play of light and half-shadows to appear.
