Torano Anthrazite

The brand-new collection by Ceramika Tubądzin proves that spaces filled with black do not have to be overwhelming with exaggerated seriousness or too intensive elegance. Torano Anthrazite is a solution for designing an intimate and elegant interior, enwrapped in a touch of mystery and raw artistry, cosy and modern at the same time.

Black is synonymous with well-recognised elegance, noble taste, and ageless style, but at the same time it can evoke a sense of sadness, distance and coldness. It is a colour indispensable for both grand social occasions and casual meetings; it is a colour inherent to modern technological gadgets, but also an element of classic, stylish accessories, which never go out of fashion. Black is with us in many daily circumstances, but when it comes to interior design it usually provokes slight resistance or doubts. But is that deserved? The new collection of large-format ceramic tiles by Monolith shows that one should not have to be afraid of dark shades. This is a recommendation for interiors featuring the fashionable anthracite, which is a very deep shade of grey, close to black, and which adds lightness and gentleness to the interior, but -at the same time - does not deprive it of its distinct nature.

Usually, when arranging interiors, we decide on subdued, warm colours - classic white, beige or pastels, which guarantee safe and calm combinations. We stay away from strong, intensive colours, and use them only in the form of extras, being afraid that they might overpower the interior or make it look smaller, gloomy, or too serious. However, dark colours should not have to be avoided. A well designed and illuminated space can help create a unique arrangement - modern, atmospheric, with an unobvious style and deep intensity. Classical black, or its lighter form - anthracite - may exist on its own as a bold, sophisticated background, but when surrounded by other colours or materials it will look equally decorative. This solution is not limited to large, spacious flats; black can be equally beautiful in a small bathroom. However, it is worth to contrast it with gold or wooden details, as well as to "play" with light, says Anna Skonka-Wojtysiak, Tubądzin Group Design Department Manager.

The Torano Anthrazite collection is based on irregular structured worn concrete, which combines raw authenticity with artistic decoration. Its simple form and modern style will be perfectly emphasised by minimalist ceramic accessories such as bowls and vases, as well as mirrors and wooden furniture. On the other hand, original, richly ornamented gold decorations will look like the most exquisite and precious works of art in its surroundings. A mosaic wall strip with its delicate herringbone pattern, as part of which anthracite stoneware has been combined with wood elements, is another eye-catching element.

The collection includes coloured body porcelain tiles, in two finishes, such as lappato and mat; the following sizes are available: 120 x 240 cm, 120 x 120 cm and 120 x 60 cm, and soon also 80 x 80 cm and 60 x 60 cm.
