What are rectified tiles?
Within a single production batch, after firing, ceramic tiles can achieve several size ranges covered by wider tolerances denoted by the so-called calibres. Rectification is a special mechanical treatment consisting of cutting the edges of the tiles. Its purpose is to match the tiles as closely as possible to a single, fixed dimension, thus significantly reducing deviation tolerances. Due to application of such processing, edges are also aligned and minimum chamfering is applied. After rectification, the angles of the tiles become 90 degrees, which further emphasises their even shape. Thus, tile rectification not only affects the visual effect of the surface, but also improves the tile laying procedure.
