This is a story about a place. About a landscape woven from deep greens, amber yellows, and the dark blues of the evening sky. It's also a story about tradition that isn't afraid of modernity. The Masovia collection, designed by Dorota Koziara for the Tubądzin brand, has just been honored with an award in the prestigious must have 2025 plebiscite, organized by the Łódź Design Festival.
The awarded Masovia collection, created in collaboration with Dorota Koziara, is a tribute to the Masovian region – its colors, rhythms, symbols, and emotions. It was this project that was recognized by the expert council of the Łódź Design Festival in the interior furnishing category.
Ceramics that tell a story
Masovia doesn't pretend to be folklore – it reinterprets it. The collection avoids literalism, instead operating with a palette of saturated, noble colors: from deep navies, through forest green tones, to juicy burgundies and muted shades of yellow. Each of the eleven hues, available in a handy 8 x 30 cm format, is like a ceramic fragment of a story – about the Mazovian landscape, about woven 'pasiaki' (striped fabrics), about colorful ceremonies, and homes full of light.
Art ingrained in the DNA
For years, Tubądzin has shown that ceramics can be more than just a finishing material. Through the Tubądzin Meets Art project, the brand becomes a patron of artists and a promoter of art in interiors. Collaborations with creators such as Maciej Zień, Anna Rudak, and Dorota Koziara result in collections that speak the language of form, light, and emotion.
must have = must know
The must have award, granted by the Łódź Design Festival since 2011, is one of the most significant distinctions in the Polish design world. It's not only a sign of recognition from experts but also a recommendation for consumers – a choice worth knowing if we treat design as a conscious part of everyday life. This year's edition showed that locality, when told with sensitivity and class, can confidently compete on the international stage.
