Sensory 3D - a new technology in ceramic tiles industry

Cutting-edge technologies are increasingly changing our everyday surroundings. Sensory 3D is both reinventing the way ceramic tiles are produced and, at the same time, changing the approach to the design of our homes by providing realistic textures and three-dimensional effects. See how advanced manufacturing allows for precise replication of natural materials and experience the manner they make tiles unique and inimitable.

You will now learn:

  • what Sensory 3D technology is,
  • how the Sensory 3D tile manufacturing method works,

Sensory 3D – what is it?

Sensory 3D technology is a state-of-the-art method of ceramic tile production that enables three-dimensional surfaces featuring life-like textures. Through an advanced application of adhesive and ceramic materials, each tile becomes a little work of art, in which a variety of textures and finishes are combined.

Manufacturing tiles using Sensory 3D technology means that natural structures such as rock cracks, marble veins or sand particles can be reproduced, making tile surfaces both visually appealing and pleasing when touched.

How do the Tubądzin Group's high-tech printing methods work?

The highest-quality printers are used to manufacture sensory ceramic tiles. Sensory 3D technology is based on ultra-precise application of granilla (a special-purpose ceramic material) onto the surface of tiles. The procedure involves spot application of an adhesive that synchronises with graphic printing. The layers of granilla are applied with pinpoint accuracy of a few micrometres, enabling several-layer material application of various thicknesses, thus creating multiple textures on a single tile.

How does the process of manufacturing a tile using Sensory 3D technology work? Specific steps include:

  1. Printing of graphics with parallel, high-precision application of adhesive.
  2. Application of granilla, which permanently bonds to tiles in areas covered by adhesive.
  3. Removal of surplus granilla from areas not covered by adhesive.
  4. Firing of tiles in a modern, ecological kiln employing a system of recuperation and recirculation of flue gases.
  5. Polishing of surfaces (depending on the desired result).

Find out more about the effects of Sensory 3D

Using the advanced methods of Sensory 3D printing, we have created collections that perfectly benefit from the potential of such technology. These include:

  • Stone Line is a collection that brings a new perspective to marble. Due to it, the stone, which is predominantly associated with classic, sophisticated interiors, finds its way into modern and minimalist arrangements. The tiles available as part of the Stone Line collection have a perceptible black vein, which is enhanced by metallic effects.
  • The Teri collection - the Soft Line decor designed by Ania Rudak as part of the Tubądzin Meets Art. The artist plays with form using lines that intertwine and create unique feminine patterns. The prominent illustrations of the décor are emphasised by structural surfaces of the base tiles.

  • Pietra Convessa is a collection in which dark, modern tiles featuring a marble pattern play a major role. Owing to Sensory 3D, each porcelain and décor tile have satin veins in bright colours that can be perceptibly sensed.

Sensory 3D technology - a higher level of interior design

Sensory 3D provides unparalleled aesthetic possibilities and practical advantages as well. Tiles manufactured using this technology are highly resistant to abrasion; this makes them a perfect selection for high-traffic interiors such as kitchens, bathrooms and corridors. In addition, their unique texture makes them brilliantly reflect light, giving interiors a unique depth.

With Sensory 3D technology, interior designers obtain a brand new tool for creating original spaces. Being able to combine multiple textures on a single tile opens the door to creative and unique solutions. Customisation of each detail allows individual designs to be created that perfectly fit in with modern interior trends.
