On 26 October, in the Zachęta National Gallery of Art, the Tubądzin Group celebrated the brand's 40th anniversary. This event was more than just an opportunity to review achievements to date, but to unveil new projects.
The venue was selected deliberately. The interiors of the Zachęta National Gallery of Art provide a unique atmosphere. The scenography of the event was designed down to the smallest detail. For one evening, the exhibition halls were transformed into dreamlike landscapes. A real feast awaited the guests, not only for a sense of taste, but a spiritual one. The evening was dominated by talks on art and design. Journalists, artists, architects and influencers were some of the invited guests.
Over the 40 years, the Tubądzin Group has built a strong brand, deeply rooted in consumers' awareness. Its hallmarks are original designs created in collaboration with artists and designers. The large-format tiles have delighted customers in 80 countries around the world. The brand focuses on quality and unique design.
The Tubądzin Group was the first Polish ceramic company to invite artists to co-operate. Its collections are created by, among others, Dorota Koziara and Maciej Zień. Tubądzin is also the organiser of the “Tubądzin Design Awards” competition for architects and interior designers, with a jury composed of several prominent artists. For many years, it has been the promoter of Tubądzin Design Days; the company co-operates with the National Opera; and is about to announce further collaborations with cultural institutions.
– Art is a subject close to our hearts. For years, we have been promoting artists and best practices to design functional and beautiful interiors. Now we are going to move a step further and officially announce the Tubądzin Meets Art project. The Tubądzin Group wants to democratise art and provide access to it. That is why it will become a patron of the arts. We will support cultural institutions, conduct co-developed projects with artists and broaden our educational activities," announces Amadeusz Kowalski, Vice-President of the Tubądzin Group.
The combination of many years of experience and unquestionable quality of the products of a ceramics manufacturer as well as creative, fresh ideas of young artists ensure remarkable projects and unconventional solutions.
– We are fascinated by nature and its beauty. This is why we have invested in the latest technological lines and machinery, which enable us to perfectly reproduce natural structures. A new addition to our portfolio this year are tiles with a sensory texture. By touching them, one can feel the heterogeneous roughness, fissures and shining, which are the same as in natural rocks and minerals – explains Amadeusz Kowalski, Vice-President of the Tubądzin Group – The creation of such sublime patterns appears feasible owing to a new production line which was launched at the beginning of this year.
The new designs were included in Maciej Zień's latest Holiday and Lounge collections. The designer described his inspirations to the guests.
– Ibiza is one of my favourite places. The island delights with its wide beaches, blue sea and music reverberating in all its corners. I love this atmosphere. I just wanted to bring it indoors in the Holiday collection. I chose the most beautiful rocks that can be found on the island. The collection could not do without ethnic décors, which add lightness and casualness to its entirety – explains Maciej Zień – The Lounge collection, on the other hand, is a tribute to metropolitan cities. Their monumental architecture and timeless elegance. Here, I have opted for expressive, dark rocks and décors alluding to the steel facades of skyscrapers," he adds.
Dorota Koziara presented the novelties in the Cielo e Terra collection. The pastel colour range was enriched with green, black and super white. New decors have appeared, which harmoniously switch from one colour to another. This creates a light and balanced effect.
– To add variety to the collection, I also supplemented it with décors inspired by nature, which include stars and plants. This is how geometric patterns were created; these can be applied to all colours in the collection – emphasises Dorota Koziara – Thanks to their excellent technical parameters, Cielo e Terra panels can be used not only in homes, public buildings but also on façades. I wanted the collection to have a warm effect. This is exactly the outcome of the deep matt surfaces. We have developed, along with the Tubądzin Technology Department, ceramic tile surfaces which give such an impression.
A night-time visit to the exhibition of sculptures by Adolf Ryszka and a concert by Bovska were some of the surprises at the end of the evening.
The Tubądzin Group will soon announce further projects with leading cultural institutions and representatives of various branches of art.
